We’re hiring CPAs, tax preparers, and staff accountants who want to help us build what a modern accounting firm actually looks like.
You will not be a small part of a large machine. You’ll be doing real client work from day one, using tools most firms won’t have for another five years, alongside people who know what they’re doing and are willing to teach you.

Who we’re hiring
We’re building a team of accountants who can grow with the firm as we grow. We hire CPAs, tax preparers, and staff accountants — people who are strong on the fundamentals of the work and curious about how the profession is changing.

What we look for, across all roles
Ambition and curiosity matter more to us than the credentials on your resume. The people who thrive at Numica tend to be the ones who see the profession changing and want to be part of building what comes next — not the ones who want the same career their firm’s partners had thirty years ago.
We hire from a mix of backgrounds: some from Big 4 or mid-tier firms looking for something with more ownership, some from smaller local firms looking for better tools and a broader thesis, some earlier in their careers who chose Numica as their first serious professional home.
How we work

AI-native, not AI-curious.
We built our own internal platform — Numica Ledger — that handles the operational layer of the firm: billing, general ledger, transaction categorization, client communication, workflow management, and selected tax filings. It’s not something we bolted on. It’s how we run.
For you, that means the routine work that dominates a junior accountant’s day at most firms — sorting client emails, categorizing transactions, chasing missing documents, formatting deliverables — is handled or accelerated by tools built specifically for the way we work. You spend your time on the parts of accounting that actually require an accountant: judgment, advisory conversations, complex client work, and the things AI can’t yet do well.

Small teams, direct access.
We are not a partnership pyramid. Our teams are small, senior people work directly with junior people, and everyone has direct access to the founders. You’ll see how decisions get made, because you’ll be in the room when they’re made.

Client work from day one.
You’ll own client relationships as fast as you’re ready to — real accountability, real learning, and a much shorter path to the kind of work that actually builds a career. You’ll work across the full range of a small business’s accounting needs (bookkeeping, tax, payroll, advisory) rather than being siloed into a single function for years.

AI as a collaborator, not a threat.
Numica Ledger drafts, sorts, categorizes, and routes work; you review, decide, and communicate. If you’re worried AI is coming for accounting careers, we see it differently — the routine work is what’s changing, and the interesting work is what’s left. That’s the work we hire for.

We’re not for everyone.
If you want a highly structured career ladder with predictable milestones every eighteen months, Big 4 is a better fit. If you want to see what accounting looks like when it’s built for the next decade rather than the last one, that’s what we’re building.
What we offer
We’re a startup, so we’re not going to pretend we can match Big 4 on every dimension. What we do offer:
- A seat at the edge of the profession. Roughly half of our team is made up of product managers, software engineers, and designers. That means the way we think, communicate, iterate, and ship is closer to a modern tech company than to a traditional accounting firm. As an accountant at Numica, you’re not just doing the work — you’re helping shape what the tools that do the work should look like. Few firms can offer that; most that claim to don’t actually mean it.
- CPA and EA exam sponsorship. We cover exam fees and study materials, and we give you real study time — not “study around your billable hours.” Passing the exam is a professional milestone we want to invest in.
- Continuing education budget. Ongoing coverage for CPE, courses, certifications, conferences, and books. We want the team learning constantly.
- 401(k) plan. Standard-issue retirement benefits, because you should have them.
- Hybrid work. We have offices in New York, New Jersey, Florida, and Texas, and are expanding. Most roles allow flexibility to balance in-office and remote work depending on the role and location.
- Direct access to the founders. Not technically a benefit, but worth naming. You’ll work with Slava and Victor regularly — not just meet them at an all-hands twice a year.
